Payment Options
Your veterinarian is your pet's advocate, and will always offer the best options for your pet's health and welfare. If your pet is admitted into the hospital, you will be provided with an estimate, which includes an explanation and authorization of the services your veterinarian would like to perform, as well as an estimate of the fees related to those services. You may also request an estimate of services offered by your veterinarian at any time.
Full payment is required at the time of service

*Please note; if this is your FIRST visit to our hospital, we cannot accept payment in the form of a Check.
Multi-pet Appointments- In our continued effort to maximize our schedule for our clients and minimize missed appointments we are now requiring a deposit equal to one exam fee for our clients making multi-pet appointments. The deposit will remain as a credit to be used towards your invoice. If you do not show up for your scheduled appointment time the credit will be applied to our office's no-show fee as stated in our missed appointment policy.
New Client Appointments- New clients to our hospital will be asked to provide a credit card to hold their appointment time. No charges will be made at the time of booking unless it is a multi-pet appointment.
At the Dog, Cat and Bird Clinic of Nutley, we aim to provide the best possible care to our clients and patients. Since our visits are by appointment only, we feel it is important to keep appointments running on schedule to respect everyone’s time and to prioritize patient care.
Late Appointments-If you are late for an appointment, (“late” is arriving 9 minutes or more after your 20 minute appointment slot was scheduled for) you have two options: you can reschedule the appointment or you can wait for the next available appointment that day, if there is one available.
Canceling Appointments-We understand that you may need to cancel an appointment occasionally. In such circumstances, please contact us no later than 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment time. You may do so by calling 973-661-0441, emailing dogcatbirdclinic@gmail.com, or using your Pet Portal to message us.
Missed Appointments-If you do not show up at your appointment time, we will consider that a missed appointment, or no-show. No-show appointments will be subject to a fee, not to be more than the cost of an exam. No-show fees are the client's sole responsibility and must be paid in full before your next appointment.
Missed Surgical/Anesthetic Appointments- If you do not show up for your scheduled procedure we will consider that a missed appointment, or no-show. No-show surgical appointments will be subject to a fee equal to 20% of the surgery estimate, but not less than $100.00. No-show fees are the client's sole responsibility and must be paid in full before rescheduling the surgery.
We know that unexpected situations sometimes arise. In the case of emergencies or extenuating circumstances we may waive the no-show fee. Waivers are determined on a case by case basis, at the practice management's discretion.
